IWSR released its latest global forecast 2018-2022

London, GB: The latest estimate of the IWSR on the global value growth of alcoholic beverages in the next five years is suggesting a growth of $78.7 bn by 2022, exceeding the $1 trillion sales marker. Among those, whiskey is expected to show the strongest global growth within the spirits category, followed by gin and tequila.

“The IWSR is one of the leading providers of data on global consumption of beverage alcohol for the industry. And, if the next five years show continued growth for US premium whiskeys as forecasted despite facing global tariffs – this is fabulous news”, states Caroline Porsiel, CEO of Atlanta Bourbon Company. According to the IWSR all spirit types in the premium segments are expected to grow continuously. Global tariffs on US products on global markets are not expected to  change this trend. “The US will continue to be a key market with top growth for wine and spirits, including US whiskey, Irish whiskey, Canadian whisky, tequila, mezcal, Cognac/Armagnac and vodka“, writes Helen Jagger, of the IWSR.
